Entertainment Week

Hi there!

It's gonna be a while before I officially graduate (a month from now to be exact) and I think with that span of time, I will be spending most of my time at home.

For every typical fresh graduate, landing for a job is the next step. However, I really do not know if I am thinking of the same thing. As I have told myself a week ago, it's far better to be a student because in every end of a term, students are always certain that they will be returning to the same spot for the next term. Whereas fresh grads, they have to conquer new horizons.

Honestly, I do not have plans where to be yet. As of this moment, all I want to do is to stay at home and... read books, paint, and write... while listening to good music and watching movies.

Those are not exactly what you should expect from a computer science graduate. Yes, I do love my degree and I have been doing my best to cope up with all the expectations (there are two out of ten females in computer science). And yes, it is my own choice of degree, not my parents.

Despite my love for art and literature (and cosmology), I have chosen this degree. I just think that this degree will be a bit challenging for me since I was awarded Programmer of the Year on my High School graduation (not Artist of the Year or Novelist of the Year or Musician of the Year. Lol). But that didn't stop me from going on with the other things I think I do best.

Still I have attended competitions in connection to my other skills. And yes, I have won most of them. But I never ever attended a Programming Competition though I was offered a couple of times.

Too much on my degree, what have I been doing this week are in connection to my other loves. I read, wrote, painted. Listened to music and watched movies. That is despite the hectic schedules of followup requirements and graduation practices.

So, what's on my playlist? Well, let's see... I've been into operas and musicales lately. I think you might've guessed the albums on my playlist by then...
  1. Les Miserables OST - Highlight from the Motion Picture
  2. Phantom of the Opera OST
  3. Miss Saigon (Original London Cast)
Yes, I've been listening to these songs all week. These are the songs I grew up to. Although the Les Miz album was from the Soundtrack, I am still in the middle of finding my copy of the old Les Miz. The one where Lea Salonga was Eponine and James Ball was Marius.

As of movies, I have lately watched the following:
  1. Divergent
  2. Secret Window
  3. The Net
  4. (rewatched) Great Expectations
  5. Pride and Prejudice
These movies are  all book-based. From Stephen King to Veronica Roth to Jane Austen and Kiera Nightly. I've got a total of 25 movies on my imdb-based watchlist.

So, as of books... So far this year, I have read the following series:
  1. Mortal Instruments - Cassandra Clare
  2. Infernal Devices - Cassandra Clare
  3. The Selection - Kiera Cass
The last books of the Mortal Instruments and The Selection series will be out on May. I was into The Kane Chronicles and the Percy Jackson series two years ago but I wasn't able to complete reading all of them. I've read til The Throne of Fire (Kane) and Son of Neptune (Percy). I've been into classics lately so my currently reading list are...
  1. If I Stay - Gayle Forman
  2. The Serpent's Shadow - Rick Riordan
  3. Great Expectations - Charles Dickens
Believe me, I am yet to reach 50% of each book. Sometimes I just forget about reading because the urge and feeling of writing and painting are more intense than just reading. Anyway, you can see my booklist on my goodreads account.

I've been writing my very first novel. Trust me, I've had a lot of firsts already, but what makes this (right now) novel different from the other firsts I've made is that I have already plotted all the events ahead. I've planned every character and everything else to make sure that I finish this one. So, if eventually, I will be able to finish this one, the next stop will be finding an agent and a publisher. Now excited.

I've written too much now. So maybe if you want to know about my paintings, please head on to my deviantART account. It's gonna be quite a collection I've got there. But I have yet to post them all.

Tata fer now! :)
